All New 2021 Infiniti QX60 Monograph - Review (World Premiere)

This is a review of the new Infiniti QX60 Monograph.

As a Monograph, this QX60 is best described as a prototype, rather than a production-ready model. Still, Infiniti says the design sets the tone for the next-generation QX60, which the company will reveal in 2021. Specifically, the Monograph is a preview of the SUV’s proportions and design elements, allowing us to make a few assumptions about the production model.

Infiniti QX60 Monograph | First Look

This is the QX60 Monograph from Infiniti. Now, Monograph is Infiniti’s way of saying sort-of-a-concept car, but almost a production car, so let’s take a look at what the future might, could, and maybe even should look like.

Doesn’t take much looking in the crystal ball to see that the second-gen of Infiniti’s three-row SUV is gonna look pretty snazzy.\r\r

Presented in this very Infiniti-esque shade of Platinum, the QX60 Monograph definitely checks off the luxury box when it comes to exterior design. \r\r

Its proportions have changed. The beltline looks like it gets higher and the greenhouse shorter. It still has a sloping roofline but perhaps a bit more pronounced over the previous gen.

As for its stance, the QX60 Monograph’s track looks a bit wider, which would indicate sportier handling and performance for the production QX60. Time will tell.\r\r

There’s a hint to Japanese origami happening here in the signature double-arch grille. That same mesh pattern shows up in air intakes, and lower valance as well. \r\r

The press materials liken the panoramic sunroof pattern to the folds of a kimono, and we can’t disagree. I mean, doesn’t your kimono fold like this? But we won’t really know until we can open it up ourselves. \r\r

The QX60 gets what Infiniti calls Digital Piano Key lights in the front and rear. \r\r

It gets a signature hello and goodbye pattern when you turn the car on, but gives the head and taillights a futuristic appearance, but hopefully illuminates the road well, too. We’ll see about that.\r\r

Oh, and hey little easter eggs here. Guess we shouldn’t be telling you about those you’re supposed to find them, but oops.\r\r

The taillights wrap around the body of the car or at least appear to and we’re hoping that the turn signals make full use of their ability to be sequential and animate when in use. \r\r

The QX60 competes in a tough segment that’s got little sub-segments with both two- and three-row options including the Audi Q7, Acura MDX, Buick Enclave, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Volvo XC90, and Lexus RX. You are not wanting for options there. \r\r

Unfortunately, we cannot look inside it, which is normal for some concept cars, and that means, we can’t drive it either, which they definitely don’t let us do with one-off concept cars, but the production version is expected sometime in 2021.\r\r

Pricing on the 2020 Infiniti QX60 starts at around $45,400 including a destination charge, so we expect this second-gen model will come in a bit above that. \r\r

If you want to know more about the QX60 Monograph you can visit it at Infiniti’s global headquarters in Yokohama, Japan, or you can subscribe to the KBB YouTube channel and we’ll share info when we get it. Stick around, because there’s gonna be a lot more to come.
